Instructions to make XP CD bootable:
1. Extract the ISO with Winimage (
http://www.winimage.com/winima60.exe) to a new directory.
2. Open CDRWIN (
ftp://ftp.disc4you.de/cdrwin/cdr40a-e.exe)
If you have not ASPI installed, download it here (
http://www.mediapolis.cz/vypal/down....=frcASPI17.zip). You can run CDRWIN without it to make ISO, but you can't burn it to CD. Then use you CD-burner software.
3. Choose the option to File Backup and Tools.
4. Click "Directory..." and select the folder that you extracted the ISO to, and click ADD.
5. Select : Build an ISO9660 Image file option.
6. Make sure that the following options are checked (or unchecked as shown).
7. Select a place to store the new ISO (click ... next Image Filename)
8. Set the following settings:
Directory Options:
[ ] Preserve Full Pathnames
[x] Recurse Subdirectories
[x] Include Hidden Files
[x] Include System Files
ISO9660 Options:
[x] Long Filenames (Joliet)
[x] Disable Version Numbers
[ ] Disable DOS Compatibility
ISO9660 Advanced Options Dialog:
Volume Descriptor Tab: Volume Label > WXPVOL_EN
Bootable Disc Tab:
[x] Make Bootable Disc
Media Emulation Type: Custom
Image File Name: XPBOOT.BIN (
http://www.xs4all.nl/~binkbv/windows...tcd/xpboot.bin)
Developer Name: Microsoft Corporation (Exactly like this is, otherwise it wont work, SPELL IT RIGHT!)
Load Segment: 07C0
Load Sector Count: 4 (YES, make sure this is 4)
Recording Options:
Disc Type: CDROM, Track Mode: MODE1
[x] Finalize Session
[x] Write Postgap
[ ] Open New Session
[ ] Test Mode
Click [START] button.
So, you've got bootable ISO. You can burn it with your CD-burner now.
